Book Drive Brings in Over 1,800 Books for Schools in Africa

Carmeuse is a global mining and manufacturing company with operations in over 30 countries.

When the African operations partnered with the Pittsburgh team to collect English-language books for schools in Ghana and Zambia, the team set a modest goal of 100 books.

The Pittsburgh and Virginia teams asked employees to take part in this important sustainability initiative and they answered. Loudly!

The team donated 1,812 books to fill the shelves of libraries in the local schools in Africa.

This incredible response is a powerful reminder that even in a world that can often feel uncertain, kindness and generosity are still very much alive.
