Pittsburgh Earth Day 2017 announces the third annual Ecolution Fashion Show taking place on Thursday, April 20th, 2017 in the Main Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel from 7PM-10PM. As part of the Pittsburgh Earth Day celebration, Ecolution kicks off this weekend-long festivity with a presentation of high-end, eco-friendly couture on one of Pittsburgh’s most unique runways. The theme of the show is The Planets …. Preserving the Wonders of the Universe and will feature out-of-this-world designs by Pittsburgh artists.

“In addition to the fashion show, guests are invited to enjoy music by DJ Soy Sos, dance performances by STAYCEE PEARL dance project, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres as well as the opportunity to peruse and purchase pieces from the Renee Piatt Collection and doTERRA Essential Oils. Thea Trix will also be featured as Mother Earth. Curated by Richard Parsakian, owner of Eons Fashion Antique, over ten designers are challenged to integrate sustainable, recyclable, and organic materials into stellar environmentally savvy ensembles that will characterize the constellations. Featured designers include: Lessa Kassler, Beth Shari, Keith Kelly, Lana Neumeyer, Dawn Surgest, Katy DeMent, Kat Belskey, Alana Yoffee, Becki Liu, Domitille Angoulvant, Kari Kramer, Karen Page & Thomas, Faith-n-Khaos, Bradford Mumpower, Terry Boyd, and Michael Anthony. This year also welcomes a special collaborative opening presentation by Laura Beth Konopinski, Jason Forck, and Valerie Herrero, and Brian Siewiorek from WYEP as the guest M.C. Models from Docherty Model & Talent Agency and hair and makeup by Izzazu Salon, Spa and Serata will also be featured. The show is additionally sponsored by Rene Furterer premium professional haircare. The brand is based on a unique expertise of customized haircare rituals, using natural key ingredients derived from essential oils and plant extracts.

Designers have the chance to win one of four award stipends provided by Larrimor’s. The most creative eco-fashions and winners will be determined by a panel of five judges: Tereneh Mosley, founder of Idia’Dega: Elegant Ethical Apparel and Global Eco-Design Collaboration and winner of the 2017 Carol Brown Award; Mary Lou Arscott, Studio Professor and Associate Head of the School of Architecture at CMU; Natalie Bencivenga, Post-Gazette Seen Column Editor; Janis Burleywilson, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Director of JazzLive at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust; and Jose` Diaz, Milton Fine Curator of Art at The Andy Warhol Museum.
